Good food, Good people

Japan, and Osaka especially,is known for many things. Two of those things are, its people and food. Japan is famous for its cuisine and if you come to Osaka, you will have the chance to experience some the tastiest food in the nation. Food culture is a big part of Osaka and the people of Osaka take it very serious. From expensive restaurants to the many street food vendors. The locals love their food, and Osaka cuisine is something that should not be missed. Some famous local dishes include; Takoyaki, which is grilled octopus inside a flour and egg based batter. Its a great street snack. Okonomiyaki is a pancake like dish filled with various ingredients like cabbage, pork, beef, squid, prawn, octopus and many more. they are also mixed into a flour based batter. It is usually prepared and cooked on a hot plate, in front of you if you are at a restaurant. Kushikatsu are battered and deep fried pieces of food like vegetables and meat on a skewer. Those are just to name a few. There are many Osaka originated Udon and Ramen dishes (noodle soups), baked sweets and fresh fish. Osaka is called the nations kitchen, and there is an abundance of food and restaurants here to enjoy. The best place to go would be Dotonbori, which is convientely located near Senba Hostel.

The people cooking the food are just as famous as the food itself. There are lots of words that can describe Japanese people. Like polite, kind, respectful, hard-working, shy, clean. And without a doubt, its true. The people of Osaka are that and more. They are know for being very friendly and open to others. They are very talkative and have a great sense of humor, which is why comedy stems from Osaka. They are also louder and more outgoing than the average Japanese person, which might perceive them as a little rough. If you come to Osaka, you are guaranteed to have an enjoyable time.
